 Teen Safety Driving Contest "Celebrate My drive"

More teens die from car cashes than any other cause. And the first year of driving is the most dangerous.

That's what Celebrate My Drive is about

Between October 15-24 2014, you'll be able to make safe driving commitments for our high school. the 100 high schools with the most commitments made can win some pretty amazing prizes, with the two top schools winning grand prizes concert by GRAMMY Nominated The Band Perry. Attention Girls Playing Powderpuff

Attention girls playing powderpuff! The practice schedule is as follow--9th grade Tuesday and Thursday 2-4 on the softball fields, 10th grade--- Monday 2:30-3:30 on Softball Field, 11th grade-- Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-5:30 on the JV football pratices field, 12th grade-- Monday and Wednesday 3:30-5:30 on the baseball field. Pratices begins the week of october 13th. Please remember to bring water and cleats if you've them.


Juniors and Seniors!!

 Juniors and Seniors you can start viewing spring SPC courses for dual enrollment beginning October 13th. Please see your guidance counselor once you have viewed the courses and are ready to complete the registration form for SPC. You may begin registering for courses on October 29th. The classes will fill up, so you need to come to guidance as soon as possible.


 Attention NHS Members

There will be a mandatory NHS meeting for all current members on Monday, 10/13, at lunch. Voting for officers will take place and NHS due of $10 will be collected. All members are expected to attend. Members, if you are unable to attend, you must see Mrs. Anderson or Mrs. Trill before Monday meeting. Dues may be paid in cash or check made out to East Lake High School. Remember, attendance at NHS meeting is required to maintain membership

Early College NHS Members

Voting for officers will take place and NHS dues of $10 will be collected week of 10/13-10/17. Dues may be paid in cash or by check made out to East Lake High School. Please come by East Lake High School to pay dues during lunch or after school anyday that week. you may then vote for your NHS officers, as well.

If you cannot make it onto campus that week, you may pay dues the following week, but please email Mrs. Trill at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Graduation Checklist for Seniors 2015

Guidance will start meeting with seniors on September 15, 2014 thru September 23, 2014 during school hours.

Guidance counselors will be calling for students with this information.

Senior Parking Information

Seniors may choose to purchase a reserved spot in the Senior Lot for $10. Seniors may also choose to purchase the opportunity to paint their spot for an additional $10. Payment must be cash or money order, no checks will be accepted. The Policies and Registration Form must be completed and presented at time of purchase.

Students may down load the student parking permit form here. Please make sure a parent signs the form and bring proof of insurance and car registration.

Regular parking permits are $5 and senior parking spots cost an additional $10. Cash only

Balfour Class Rings  

 ATTENTION Junior and Seniors

Balfour will be accepting class ring orders on campus in cafeteria on August 25th during lunches and at open house. Balfour will be on campus in the cafeteria during lunches on September 3rd & 4th. On Sept 3rd Balfour will also conduct an order night for parents to attend in the cafeteria from 6 to 7:00 pm. A $50.00 deposit needed to place your ring order. East Lake High School PTSA will be holding their 1st General meeting of the year on Tuesday, October 7th at 7 pm in the Media Center. The remaining General meetings will be held on January 7th and April 8th. All are welcome to attend. 

Algebra/History EOC Results, FCAT Results, and Summer Bridge

The Algebra EOC and Spring FCAT results can be viewed on the Test History section of your child's FOCUS/PORTAL PAGE. Your student can also sign up for the summer bridge program on PCSB.org.

Address Verification

Pinellas County Schools is implementing a new address-verification procedure. The process will ensure that all parents receive timely information about important topics, including emergencies, transportation, scheduling and school placements.

Efforts to educate families about transition to Common Core State Standards 

The district has launched a Common Core Web presence aimed at informing families about Common Core State Standards. 

The Web presence includes numerous resources, including background on Common Core, videos, and specific information just for parents that defines Common Core State Standards as what students in kindergarten through 12th grade should know in English language arts and mathematics. The Common Core State Standards will be fully implemented in all grades during the 2014-15 school year.
